Offix designed and built a 755 sqft office in Singapore for Dynamic Engineering Services and Supplies — a Scandinavian-modern scheme with full-height storage, switchable privacy glass and integrated carpentry — delivered in five to seven weeks.
How do you make a small office feel larger?
Small office design is mostly a storage and sightline problem. Under about a thousand square feet every piece of furniture competes for the same floor, and anything that blocks a view across the space makes the office feel smaller than it measures.
Dynamic Engineering Services and Supplies needed a complete office inside 755 sq ft: workstations, a meeting room, a discussion space and a pantry, with enough storage that none of it ends up on the desks. On a floor this size those requirements do not fit unless the storage is vertical and the divisions are transparent.
It was also a design brief rather than a fit-out brief. The company wanted a considered, modern scheme — not a partitioned box with furniture pushed into it — which is why this ran as design and build from the first sketch.
What we built into a small footprint
The scheme is Scandinavian-modern: pale timber, off-white surfaces, slim black framing and warm integrated lighting, with the palette kept deliberately short so the space reads as one room rather than several.
Storage runs full height along the wall lines instead of standing in the middle of the floor, which is what keeps a floor this size usable. The pantry is built in dark walnut with lit open shelving and a black counter — the one place the palette goes deep, which lets it read as a separate room without needing a wall.
Meeting and discussion rooms are enclosed in slim black-framed glass rather than solid partitions, so daylight from the window line carries into the internal spaces and the office keeps its full depth. Carpentry and furniture were made to the plan as one interior design package, so desks, credenzas and joinery all line through.

Why switchable glass earns its place in a small office
The meeting room glazing is switchable. In clear mode the room is part of the office and daylight passes straight through it; in private mode the glass turns opaque at the flick of a switch and the room becomes a closed meeting space.
In an office this size that is a planning decision, not a gadget. A permanently frosted room would cost the office its depth and its light for the sake of the few hours a week the room is genuinely confidential. Switchable glass buys privacy only when it is needed and gives the floor back the rest of the time.
It is supplied and installed by our own smart glass team, so the specification, the framing and the electrical provision were resolved inside the same package rather than coordinated between trades on site.
